Day One of the Magic...

We worked on Monday so much of Monday evening was spent doing last minute packing and getting things ready for our trip to Disney. Matthew's excitement started when we pulled out the suitcases and started packing - obviously, he had NO idea what Disney World was or where we were going, but he was surely excited.

On Tuesday morning, we had all of the bags in the foyer, and Matthew decided he was going to go pull his new Mickey couch/sleeping bag next to the suitcases....he didn't want to leave it home! But, he then ran outside and helped Daddy pack the truck up.....he grabbed his pillow buddy and jumped in his car seat - he's no dummy and we weren't going anywhere without our favorite little man. As soon as he did, what a surprise he had when Mom-Mom and Uncle Davey pulled up and added more suitcases to the truck. He giggled and was beaming, especially when he got a NEW pillow pet(the ladybug) from his Mom-Mom, the bee got put back in the house and the ladybug was coming on the trip :)

We had no idea how Matthew was going to do with traveling since the last flight we were on was the one coming home from China. We were signing airplane to him, but we knew he still had no idea what was happening. He did well in the airport until it was time to go through security. All of a sudden, he started crying huge tears and clung to me like crazy, he was petrified of something and it was heartbreaking. Did he think we were taking him back to China? Did we have a bad experience on one of our flights in China? Once we got through, his shoes back on, snacks in hand, and lots and lots of hugs - he was better and Daddy was whipping him up and down the terminal in the stroller giggling away. I couldn't help but wonder what scared and upset him so much....I prayed he knew that his Mommy and Daddy would never ever leave him, our precious little boy!

He then say with his Daddy watching our plane land and he was SO very excited...it was so cute watching him and his Daddy looking at the big airplane. He had a window seat and was so thrilled when we were on the plane - I think our cheeks hurt from smiling so much just watching Matthew take everything in. He vocalized things the entire flight and never once took his processor off until we think the pressure got too much in his ears and he actually had quite an impressive nose bleed in flight. Thankfully we got it stopped within a few minutes, but what a mess! He then watched his movie on his little DVD player, had more snacks, and was so good. No napping either!

Once we arrived in FL, we had to wait in line for our Magical Express bus to take us to our hotel - and I must tell you Matthew LOVES buses so big score there, and even bigger score when there was a Mickey Mouse video on the bus....yes, very happy boy! Then, there were Mickey Mouse's everywhere at the hotel, in the restaurant....everywhere!

We then got on another bus (SO EXCITING FOR HIM) and headed off to Epcot since we only had a few hours before the parks closed. It turned out to be a great choice since it wasn't that crowded there. Matthew loved Nemo and the aquarium, a big ole popsicle, and then the big treat came....we walked past the character spot and decided to get in line. They were playing videos in line, so Matthew was very content in the stroller. He had NO idea he was about to meet Mickey and friends, and when we got closer, we showed him who we were in line to see and he went crazy with excitement. Squealing, jumping, dancing, holding his little head in his hands......he could barely hold in his excitement, and what a priceless time it was to see him run up to his favorite characters without fear dancing, laughing, and playing with them. My heart was beaming...he was SO happy:) Yes, it was the highlight of our day, our little boy was so very happy and excited!!!

We were exhausted as we headed back to the hotel, but we knew this was just the beginning of some awesome days. The magic of Disney was already underway and we'd only been there a few hours..........hmmmmmm, little did we know that Wednesday was going to be even better:)

GREAT 1st day stories! I can't wait to read the rest! And I had to laugh cause I'd never heard of a pillow pet, but Allison asked me last week if she could add it to her Christmas list. She wants a dog. :)
