Dear Matthew -
We just wanted to write you a little note and tell you a little story....yesterday, it was a very dark and dreary day after an ice storm. Mommy got out of work and was just taken back with the amazing sky that greeted her when she walked outside. It was all different shades of pink, and was just breathtaking. Right as she got all teared up at the beauty of the sky, Daddy called Mommy's cell phone. He had just gotten out of work and said - "You've got to look at the sky!" He told Mommy he had just been talking about YOU Matthew to someone at work, and where Mommy and Daddy were in the journey to finally coming to get you. Daddy knew it had to be close because of this amazing sky after an extremely ugly day. Mommy and Daddy then met at a grocery store to do some shopping. Daddy put his arm around Mommy and pointed up at the sky and said - "See, Matthew's at the other side of this sky - and TOMORROW is the day we were going to find out that we could finally plan our travel to come to China!"
Well...............once again dear Matthew your Daddy was right. We woke up this morning and both of us had funny feeling bellies! Daddy said he checked his phone every 10 minutes, and Mommy had to work in the clinic, but took her cell phone with her today. At 2:50pm, we go a phone call from Emily, our new coordinator from the agency, telling us that we had travel permission to come to China to get you! Mommy started to cry right away, and couldn't wait to call Daddy. Daddy knew right away what Mommy was calling for when he saw the call!
Mommy and Daddy are just so excited about coming to China to FINALLY have YOU in our arms. We have dreamt about you for so many years, and especially have had you close in our hearts since we first saw your dear face on August 25th! It won't be long now dear Matthew, we just have to wait until we hear about your consulate appointment and final travel plans. It looks like it will be the very end of January/early February for our departure date to come to Beijing!!! That's in 3-4 weeks! We just can't wait and we just love you so much! Thank you for sending us the beautiful sky yesterday that touched our hearts! We thank God for you every day!

God is good...God is sooo good. i love to say that lately, don't know where it came from...but boy does it apply to this day for you two. Two gifts in one day--the gorgeous sky--and the approval to "go" to get your precious Matthew!
I simply can not wait to watch you start your family.

I know Matthew painted the sky for you, but he had to have some pull with the angels. You know your "step-son" Brandon had something to do with that. If anyone can make this happen quickly our boys, Matthew here and Brandon above, they will make it happen. You will never have to worry about Matthew, because he will always have a special angel watching out for him, even though Brandon will call him Max.
