Well, it is now Day 91 of our wait for this letter of acceptance. It has been a week of highs and lows as our emotions are truly all over the board. We have been in contact with our agency numerous times this week, and unfortunately, nothing is set in stone. We are still waiting for our LOA to be mailed – the in country facilitator attempted to check on things for us, and believes there are no problems with our paperwork, that things are just taking a while to process. They also shared with us that we are not alone, and there are other families waiting just as long as we have. As much as that is supposed to make us feel better, it really hasn’t. At least Chris and I seem to take turns with the breakdowns here and there because if we were both low at the same time, we’d be in trouble! We just want to be parents in the worst way, and want Matthew in our arms SOON! We know the day will come soon, and believe me, we are TRYING so hard to be patient!
The wonderful thing that happened this week was that we received 3 new pictures of Matthew(which I am dying to post for all of you, but can’t yet). He is just growing up so quickly, but is just so precious! The one picture he is even smiling slightly, and he is holding toys in the other 2. It made our day on Tuesday, but it also made us sad we were missing important parts of him growing up! We know we will make up for it soon with a lifetime of love, but we want it now!!!(aren’t we selfish?) But, we are treasuring these pictures. We also know that he is a little over 26 pounds right now, 31.5 inches, his feet are 5.25inches, and he has 14 teeth! That was neat to read!
On another note, Chris’s brother in law was readmitted to the hospital on Tuesday evening, and was found to have 2 pulmonary embolism, one in each lung. (Blood clots in his lungs) For those of you that don’t know, that’s a very serious condition and could kill someone if not treated immediately. Thankfully, he is getting well taken care of. Please pray though for Chris’s sister, as she is just so tired both emotionally and physically from all that has happened over the past 3 weeks.
We did get the Christmas tree decorated this week which was so nice! I love the way the house looks at Christmas, so warm and cozy. I will have to take a picture of the tree this week-end and post it for you. The cats were quite entertaining last week-end and this week as that is their new playhouse!
We are looking forward to spending the week-end with Mom and Davey. Mom and I have had a tradition the past few years of going to the big Christmas and Craft show at the farm show complex, so that is what we are going to do tomorrow. David doesn’t know it yet, but Chris is taking him and his friend Justin to the Hershey Bears game tomorrow night, so he will LOVE that! David also wants to bake Christmas cookies, so that will be fun too! Next year, Matthew will be helping with the cookies – and we will be going to visit Santa and all of that good stuff!
Hope you all have a nice week-end. I know this post was kind of all over the place – guess I just needed to get a few things out!
